Karachi is the one part of Pakistan this site cannot look up, and a lot of people arrive here trying. K-Electric is a separate, privately owned company with its own billing system; the reference-number lookup on our homepage runs on the PITC system that serves the ex-WAPDA companies and Azad Kashmir, so a KE account number returns nothing. This guide covers the official routes KE itself publishes, so you can get your bill in a minute without a third-party site.
What you need: the 13-digit account number
Every KE bill carries an account number of thirteen digits, printed on the bill itself. KE's own SMS instructions use it in the format REG 0400012345678, which is also the clearest statement of its length. KE does not offer a lookup by name or CNIC, and no legitimate service does; a site that asks for a CNIC to show a bill is not one to trust. Keep the number somewhere safe, because it does not change and it is all every route below needs.
Four official ways to see a K-Electric bill
1. The KE Live app
KE Live is on Google Play and the Apple App Store. KE lists it as the place to view and download your bill, pay it, register a complaint, check the power status in your area and report theft. For most people this is the equivalent of what our lookup does for a LESCO or PESCO bill: sign in once with the account number and the current bill is there each month, with past bills behind it.
2. SMS to 8119
KE runs an SMS service on short code 8119. Register once by texting REG and your 13-digit account number, then text BILL to get the current bill, LS for the load-shed schedule, COMP for a technical complaint and ACCT to see the accounts you registered. If you have not registered, add the account number after the command, for example BILL 0400012345678. Texting UNREG and the account number removes it.
3. WhatsApp on 0348-0000118
Save 0348-0000118 and send HI to start. KE describes the service as 24 hours, bilingual, and able to send a duplicate bill among other things, though its contact page does not spell out the exact steps for the bill, so follow the menu the bot sends back.
4. The website, ke.com.pk
KE's site has a bill section under its customer services menu where the account number brings up the current bill. The labels move around between redesigns, so if the homepage does not show a bill box, look under customer services for bills and e-payments.
Paying a KE bill
KE bills are accepted by the main bank apps and by JazzCash and Easypaisa, which take the account number or the bill's reference. The KE Live app also takes payment directly. As with every electricity bill in Pakistan, a payment made through an app can take a working day or two to show against the account, so keep the transaction reference until it does.
Charges on a KE bill that look different
The base tariff for K-Electric is notified by NEPRA separately from the uniform tariff the ex-WAPDA companies use, so the per-unit rates on our tariff page are not KE's. Two things are the same, however. NEPRA notifies the same monthly fuel cost adjustment and the same quarterly adjustment for KE consumers, with the same exemptions, so this month's adjustments apply in Karachi too. And the slab structure and the protected consumer rule work the same way, so the protected consumer checker tells a KE household the same thing it tells anyone else.
Contacting K-Electric
- 118: emergencies such as sparking or broken wires, and complaints.
- (021) 99000: to speak to a representative.
- customer.care@ke.com.pk: billing and new connection queries.
- net.metering@ke.com.pk: net metering.
- speakup@ke.com.pk: reporting theft or malpractice.
- Registered office: KE House, 39-B Sunset Boulevard, Phase II, DHA, Karachi.
All of the above is from KE's own contact page as of October 2026. If a number stops working, the contact page is the place to check, not a search result.
If you are outside Karachi
Everyone else in Pakistan is billed by one of the eleven distribution companies or the AJK department, all of which our lookup covers. If you are not sure which company you are with, the name is printed at the top of the bill, and our guide to the DISCOs explains how the map is divided.
