You can check your PESCO bill on the official PITC page, bill.pitc.com.pk/pescobill, by entering the reference number or Customer ID from an old bill. The bill opens on screen and you can print it. For a wrong bill or a power cut, call 118 or SMS 8118 first, note the ticket number, and use your circle's number if the problem is not fixed.
The numbers and pages below are taken from PESCO's own website and the PITC bill page, as of October 2026.
First, check that you are a PESCO customer
PESCO (Peshawar Electric Supply Company) supplies Peshawar and much of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but not all of it.
Hazara is no longer part of PESCO. The Hazara-I and Hazara-II circles were split off into a separate company, HAZECO, which was notified in 2023. If you live in Abbottabad, Mansehra or elsewhere in Hazara, your bill is not under PESCO. Abbottabad and Hazara readers should see the HAZECO bill guide.
If your town appears in the circle table further down, you are in PESCO's area as PESCO lists it. If you are unsure, the company name is printed at the top of your paper bill.
How to check and print your PESCO bill online
The official bill page is run by PITC and titled "PESCO Web Bill". It offers two ways to search: by Reference No. or by Customer ID.
- Open bill.pitc.com.pk/pescobill, or use our PESCO bill checker.
- Choose "Reference No." or "Customer ID".
- Type the number exactly as it appears on an old bill.
- Submit. The bill opens as a "Web Generated Bill", which you can view, save or print.
You cannot search by CNIC or mobile number on this page. You need one of the two numbers from a previous bill.
Where the numbers are on your bill
On a PITC-generated PESCO bill, the reference number is printed as 14 digits followed by a letter, in groups such as "11 12345 1234567 R" (this is an illustrative layout, not a real account). When you search by reference number, enter the 14 digits.
The same bill also carries a separate 10-digit Consumer ID. This is the number to use if you choose the "Customer ID" search option.
The bill also shows:
- connection date
- tariff and sanctioned load
- bill month, reading date, issue date and due date
- division, sub division and feeder name
The division and sub division matter later: they tell you which PESCO office handles your connection, which helps when you are working out which circle to call.
The printed web bill is the same bill PESCO has issued. The company website shown in the bill footer is www.pesco.com.pk.
Use only the official pages
Search results for "pesco bill" are crowded with look-alike websites, with names such as pescobill.pk, pescoebill.pk, pescoduplicatebill.pk and pescobill.com.pk. These are not run by PESCO or PITC. They are unofficial.
The practical problem is that several of them list helpline numbers or email addresses that do not appear anywhere on PESCO's own complaint page. Examples include 111-000-128 and complaints@pesco.gov.pk. If you call or write to a number you found on an unofficial site, your complaint may never reach PESCO.
Stick to two addresses:
- bill.pitc.com.pk/pescobill for viewing and printing the bill
- pesco.com.pk for complaints, duplicate bills, bill adjustment and other services
PESCO's bill and official pages use pesco.com.pk, not pesco.gov.pk.
PESCO complaint numbers: 118, 8118 and your circle
PESCO's complaint cell page gives one central route and seven circle numbers.
- Call 118 or SMS 8118 to register a complaint.
- PESCO Central Complaint Cell Peshawar: 0370-1341078 (call or WhatsApp), for when the customer service centre does not respond.
The circle numbers below are copied exactly from PESCO's complaint cell page, as of October 2026.
| Circle | Number | Areas PESCO lists |
|---|---|---|
| Peshawar | 091-9212523 | Peshawar, Charsadda, Shabqadar |
| Khyber | 091-9217576 | Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, Hangu |
| Mardan | 0937-9230288 | Mardan, Takhtbai |
| Swat | 0946-9240367 | Dargai, Malakand, Buner, Timergara, Dir, Khwazakhela, Shangla |
| Bannu | 0928-9230288 | Bannu, Lakki, Karak |
| Swabi | 0938-221209 | Swabi |
| DI Khan | 0966-850056 | DI Khan, Tank |
Two points catch people out.
091-9212523 is not the helpline for all of PESCO. It is the Peshawar circle number only. If you live in Mardan, Bannu or Swat, calling it will not get your complaint to the right office.
Peshawar appears under two circles. PESCO lists Peshawar under both the Peshawar circle and the Khyber circle. If you live in Peshawar and are not sure which one covers you, start with 118. When you call the circle, have your bill's division and sub division in front of you so the representative can confirm it.
How to register and escalate a complaint
This order follows PESCO's own complaint page. It works for a wrong bill, a power outage or a meter fault.
- Call 118 or SMS 8118. Describe the problem and give your reference number.
- Write down the ticket number. PESCO's escalation steps depend on it. Without it, you may have to start again.
- If the problem is not resolved, call your circle number from the table above and give the ticket number to the CSC (customer service centre) representative.
- If the CSC does not respond, call or WhatsApp the PESCO Central Complaint Cell on 0370-1341078. Quote the same ticket number.
Keep a note of the date and time of each call, and the name of anyone you speak to. If you later take the matter further, this record helps.
Online routes on pesco.com.pk
PESCO's "Consumer One-stop-shop" page links to these portals:
- Complaint Management System
- Bill Adjustment
- Duplicate Bill
- New Connection
- PM Citizen Portal
- MoWP Complaints Desk
The site menu also has Load Management Schedule, Emergency Shutdowns, and Know Your Customer (KYC) Registration.
For a billing error, the Bill Adjustment portal and the Complaint Management System are the most direct online options. The PM Citizen Portal and the Ministry of Water and Power complaints desk are further channels if PESCO's own routes do not resolve the issue.
If your bill looks wrong
Before you complain, check whether the increase has a known cause.
This month's fuel charge
NEPRA has notified a fuel charge adjustment of Rs 1.11 a unit for August 2026 consumption, to be added to October 2026 bills. It applies to PESCO bills, as PESCO is an ex-WAPDA company. Lifeline consumers, EV charging stations and consumers on prepaid tariffs are excluded.
If your October bill was issued before the notification on 7 October 2026, the amount may be recovered on your November bill instead. So you may see this line a month later than other people. Our October 2026 FCA and QTA guide explains the charges in full.
Check the bill details yourself
Open the bill on the PITC page and compare it with your paper copy. Look at:
- the reading date and the units billed
- the tariff printed on the bill
- the sanctioned load
Tax lines such as electricity duty vary between bills, so check the rate printed on your own bill rather than assuming a figure.
Taking a billing dispute further
If a genuine error is not corrected through 118, your circle and the central complaint cell, you can raise a formal dispute. Our overbilling complaint guide covers the NEPRA route, and you can use our complaint letter, in English or Urdu, to put the details in writing.
PESCO's own guidance is to pay attention to the ticket number throughout. Include it in any letter.
If the power is off
For an unplanned outage, use the same route: call 118 or SMS 8118, note the ticket number, then escalate to your circle if needed.
For planned cuts, PESCO publishes a Load Management Schedule and an Emergency Shutdowns page on pesco.com.pk. Check these before you call, as a scheduled shutdown will not be treated as a fault. Our load-shedding page shows where each company publishes its schedule and how to report an outage.
What to do next
- Find an old bill and note the 14-digit reference number or the 10-digit Consumer ID.
- Check and print your current bill through our PESCO bill checker or bill.pitc.com.pk/pescobill.
- Save 118, 8118, your circle number from the table above and 0370-1341078 in your phone.
- If you live in Hazara, use the HAZECO guide instead.
- If the bill is wrong, call 118, write down the ticket number, and escalate in the order PESCO sets out.
